Yesterday afternoon I watched the Sharks beat Detroit 3-2 in an overtime shootout. It was quite a good game. The Redwings always give the Sharks a tough time. Thornton scored the first goal, and Marleau scored the winning goal in the shootout after not contributing much of anything during the rest of the game. In the evening I watched a DVD of the movie Battle for Haditha. It is a fictionalized depiction of an actual event in which Marines were charged with killing civilians to retaliate for a roadside bomb that killed and wounded some of their patrol. It is a good representation of the absurdity and hopelessness of all sides involved in Bush's war in Iraq. I give it 3.5 stars.
