Yesterday I took a shower and went to PAMF to meet with my urologist. He removed my supra-Pubic Catheter and replaced it with a traditional Foley catheter through the urethra. That is progress. I have to go back in a couple of weeks to see if I can resume my self catheterization. Yesterday afternoon Joshua came over and watched the Sharks lose another game to Detroit. The score was 0-0 until the third period when the Sharks took a 1-0 lead. Detroit then tied it when they had too many men on the ice and the new player helped score a goal. The refs in Detroit tend to favor the home team. When they make mistakes, they usually are in favor of the Red Wings. They also scored an empty netter at the end. I admit that Detroit outplayed the Sharks most of the game, but the Sharks’ goalie was so good, he kept them in the game until near the end. We will now have to beat them in game 7 in San Jose at 6 PM Thursday. My prostate is a little sore and bleeding, but otherwise I feel good.

I had a quiet day at home yesterday. I did not feel up to going to Safeway, so I will go today. Last night I watched PBS shows about what happened to the Minoan civilization on Crete (it was wiped out by a Tsunami), and another one about Stonehenge. There was also an interesting one about bats. Tonight is the hockey game. Jason and Joshua are going to see it.

Yesterday I read Science. I also took two bedspreads to be washed and dried and Went to Frey’s to buy new ink cartridges for my printer. I also washed the sheets in the guest room. At 4 PM I picked up my bedspreads. In the evening I watched a Netflix DVD of the movie Shooter. It was a thriller about a Marine sniper who is enticed out of retirement to help protect the president and then is framed for trying to kill him. It then becomes a wild action movie with more superhuman deeds and fights against impossible odds than you can believe. It is very well done though and has a good cast. I give it four stars. I feel good today. I have an appointment with my urologist this afternoon.

I finished reading The Economist yesterday. In the afternoon Maureen brought Beech over for a couple of hours. In the late afternoon I watched the Sharks lose to Detroit 3-4. Joshua went to the game, so I am sure he was disappointed. The Sharks scored the first goal, and they had a two goal lead in the third period, and then with only about a minute left Detroit scored the winning goal. So now the Sharks lead the series 3-2, and if they don’t win one of the next two games they will be out of the playoffs. In the evening I watched a Nature program about bears and salmon and then watched the second episode of South Riding on PBS. I feel good today.

Yesterday I met Helen and Jim at Starbucks. I had the big hot chocolate with whipped cream. Afterward I did some laundry and read some of The Economist. In the afternoon I went to Los Gatos with Vanessa and the kids. Julian is in Hawaii with Alex and his girlfriend. The kids had a wonderful time playing in the hot tub and pool with Ellie and Caroline. Afterward Jason and I picked up Melanie at the hospital where she was working as a Candy Striper, and we joined the others at Live Oak Kitchen for dinner. Everyone had a great dinner followed by the ice cream at the nearby store. I got home about 8:40 PM and read some more of The Economist. I feel good again today.

Yesterday I had an appointment with Dr. Sherry Huang and gave her a printout of my blood pressure file. She does not have Excel. I have gained about ten pounds and she thinks things are getting better. She says next time to bring my blood pressure measuring device so she can check it. I need to see her again on 30 July. In the afternoon I watched the Sharks lose to Detroit 3-4. They were down 0-3 in the first period, then they lost 3-4 late in the third period. Josh came over and watched the third period with me. The Sharks now lead the series 3-1, and the next game

Yesterday was a quiet day at home between hockey games. I felt enough better that I walked both up and down stairs to get my mail. We were having a heat wave, so I avoided going outside. In the evening I watched a Netflix DVD of the German movie The Tunnel. It was a thriller about East Germans digging a tunnel to get under the Wall in its early days. The actors were all German and unknown to me but they were good. Of course they spoke German, so I had to read subtitles, but it was not too bad. I give it three stars. I have an appointment with my family doctor this afternoon, so I will print out my Excel blood pressure file for her. I feel good again today.

Vanessa brought Beech over at noon yesterday with lunch for both of us. He had a short day at school. We ate lunch and played a game of chess. We then watched part of the movie Grandma’s Boy, which is very funny. It was so much fun having him visit. He acted so grown up and earnest in his conversations. Maureen and Gary picked him up about 4 PM to take him home. In the late afternoon Joshua came over and watched the Sharks play Detroit. It was a great game which the Sharks won in overtime when Setoguchi scored his third goal of the game. The score was 4-3, and the Sharks now lead the series 3-0. One more victory and they move on to the conference finals against either Vancouver or Nashville. The next game is also in Detroit on Friday, and this time it will start at 4 PM PDT, so Josh may miss the first period. After the game yesterday, Josh and I went to the Dutch Goose for burgers. It was very crowded but delicious as usual. I had a good sleep last night and feel good again today.

Yesterday I took a shower and went to PAMF before noon for an appointment with my urologist. He gave me a plug for my catheter and told me to measure how much urine I can produce normally and how much is left in my bladder afterward. I have to see him again on Friday. In the evening I read Nicole’s Senior Thesis which I had printed out after she emailed it to me. I was about American support for Franco during the Spanish civil war. I thought it was very good. I had watched Charlie Rose at 8 PM, so I turned in just after midnight. I feel good again today.

Yesterday Jason, Josh, and Julian with the Beech and Annie came over and watched the Sharks beat Detroit 2-1 for their second victory in their Stanley cup series. The Sharks now lead 2-0 in the series. So far so good. Joshua brought in some McDonalds burgers but Julian brought in Taco Bell for the kids. Julian and the kids left after the first period for another engagement, but it was great to see them. The next Sharks game will be in Detroit on Wednesday. Last night I was watching 60 Minutes on CBS when the programming was interrupted by the news the Osama had been killed by Americans and we had his body. Afterward I watched the first episode of South Riding on Masterpiece Theater. I then turned in early at 11:30 PM. I feel good today. I have an appointment with my urologist this morning.

Yesterday I read a good bit of The Economist. In the evening I watched a Netflix DVD of the movie Fair Game, a docudrama about the outing of Valerie Plame Wilson as a CIA agent and the smearing of her and her husband Joe Wilson, played by Sean Penn. Even though I knew the story, I found it very interesting and troubling. I give it four stars. There was also a commentary on the film by the real Valerie and Joe Wilson. I feel good again today.
